Verano Afytos
Chalkidiki, Greece
Welcome to Verano Afytos, a 3-star hotel that epitomizes the fusion of simple architectural aesthetics with the traditional building styles of Afytos. From the outset, our primary goal was to ensure that guests enjoy all the comforts of modern tourist accommodation while staying connected to the local character of the area.
Afytos, a timeless destination in Chalkidiki, is renowned for its unique traditional charm and breathtaking panoramic views of the Kassandra Gulf. We embraced the challenge of designing a tourist accommodation that seamlessly blends tradition with contemporary elements.
Our project faced the rigorous demands of local legislation dictating architectural styles. Consequently, the Verano Afytos Hotel was crafted to present a modern yet fresh interpretation of Afytos’ traditional morphology. The use of simple materials, such as white plaster, wood, and the renowned local stone of Afytos, endows the building with a timeless character that integrates harmoniously with the surrounding traditional structures.
Maximizing the stunning views of the gulf was a key design consideration. The first-floor rooms are strategically aligned side by side, all facing the sea. The ground floor rooms are arranged in a corner layout of two building units, surrounding the pool and outdoor lounge area, creating a vibrant and communal “neighborhood” atmosphere.
Inside, the hotel’s interior design embraces a minimalistic style, reflecting the summer aesthetics typical of the Chalkidiki region. The reception area, considered the core space of the building, is strategically placed at the intersection of the three units, ensuring that all visitors access their rooms through this central point.
Verano Afytos is more than just a hotel; it’s an experience that combines comfort with the rich cultural heritage of Afytos. Come and immerse yourself in a stay that celebrates both tradition and modernity.
